School Supply Program
WeCAN’s Ready to Learn program distributes donated school supplies at the beginning of the school year and year-round to low-income families in the surrounding community. For a list of school supplies needed, click here.
Distribution
Wednesday, August 25th and Thursday, August 26th 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., WeCAN office located at 2434 Commerce Blvd., Mound. No registration needed.
Eligibility
Low-moderate income families. Must live in Greenfield, Independence, Loretto, Maple Plain, Minnetonka Beach, Minnetrista, Mound, Rockford, Spring Park, St. Bonifacius, Tonka Bay or Western Orono and have financial need. Children should be entering grades K-12 during the 2010-2011 school year. Person picking up school supplies should have custody of the children they are requesting supplies for.
Identification Required
- ID for parent/custodial caregiver
- Proof of address (lease, utility bill from past 30 days. ID is not sufficient for proof of address.)
- ID for each child receiving school supplies (school ID, medical insurance cards, social security card, or report card from 2009-2010)
