2010 Prayer Breakfast at Our Lady of the Lake Church
Over 100 people participated in WeCAN’s 2010 Community Prayer Breakfast held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound on April 22nd. They enjoyed a delicious breakfast donated by Scotty B’s and listened to a presentation on “What Makes Strong Communities” by Robert Stevens, President and CEO of Ridgeview Medical Center. Stevens spoke of eight factors that he believes help to create strong communities: a powerful faith society, vibrant schools, social interaction, collaboration, vision, the ability to embrace change, deep thoughtful listeners and people who take care of one another. All of those factors can be found in the WeCAN service area he said.
WeCAN is grateful for the funds raised from this annual event and excited about the number of people who indicated an interest in becoming volunteers.
